Ashley Matskevich, MD, is a practicing Board Certified Psychiatrist in Boston, who believes strongly in the combination of therapy and when indicated, evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Matskevich graduated from the University of Florida, where she majored in English Literature. She then attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she fell in love with psychiatry. After medical school she moved to Boston and completed the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program. She trained at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and was co-chief resident of the inpatient psychiatric unit. She also served as an editor at the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, and published peer-reviewed manuscripts on psychotic spectrum illness. Upon graduation, she received the Henry G. Altman award for excellence in medical education. She is currently a faculty member at Harvard Medical School, where she teaches psychopharmacology. She is also a full-time psychiatrist at Commonwealth Psychology in Boston.
When not working, she enjoys long-distance running, serving on the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society council, learning Russian, and reading fiction.
