Dr. Robert Sporter earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in his hometown at the University of Pittsburgh, Summa cum Laude. Since college, he has lived in and around New York City. He earned his MD at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center, now Northwell Health. He was selected to serve an additional year as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Sporter stayed at Northwell to complete his fellowship in Adult & Pediatric Allergy & Immunology. Dr. Sporter has a busy private practice at the Fifth Avenue, Manhattan Office of ENT & Allergy Associates, the country's largest otolaryngology and allergy practice with offices in New York and New Jersey. He sees adult & pediatric patients for a wide variety of issues including nasal allergies, skin allergies, asthma, medication allergy, food allergy, and immune deficiency. He has a particular interest in severe asthma, contact dermatitis/skin allergy, and chronic sinus conditions. He sits on the practice's Allergy, Education, and Compliance Committees. Dr. Sporter is on staff at the Mount Sinai Hospital, and is on Faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is very active in the Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, one of the top allergy/immunology programs in the world. He teaches the Mount Sinai Allergy Fellows in his private office, and in the hospital and clinic. Dr. Sporter has lectured at Mount Sinai and regionally on asthma, drug allergy, and biologic therapies for severe allergic disease. Dr. Sporter is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is a member of the New York Allergy & Asthma Society and the New York County Medical Society, where he previously served on the Board of Directors. He has been selected as a top doctor on several regional listings by his patients and peers.
